AFC Bournemouth Ladies


AFC Bournemouth Ladies orignated as AFC Bournemouth Young Ladies from the youth team Royal Marine Ladies back in 1998. They were a very successful mini soccer football team winning many league titles and cups.
AFC Bournemouth Charlies Angels AFC Bournemouth Dorset Devils These 2 teams both entered the Dorset under 14's league. Which was a success as "Charlie's Angels" came 2nd, "Dorset Devils" 3rd. The club gradually grew, and the biggest it has been was then the club had 6 teams,

In 2002 the club introduced a open aged ladies team which entered the Dorset Womens league. We also continued to develop our youth side and entered an Under 10's side into the Dorset League. Once again we entered an under 12's side, and two Under 14's side. This season turned out to be the best season yet with every team playing some great football and achieving some great results.
The Under 10's Came runners up in their league.
The Under 12's won their league and were undefeatable.
The Under 14's Young Ladies also won their league, and the Cherries came 3rd.
The Ladies achieved promotion in their first league after coming runners up in their league.
The Ladies also won the Dorset cup after beating the South West Champions 3-1.
Not only was this a great season for the Ladies side of Bournemouth but also the men had a great day out in Cardiff and won the Division 3 Play-Off final 5-2 against Lincoln, which led them back to Division Two.

2003/2004: The Ladies gained promotion again after winning the Southern Division One, and the Young Ladies gained promotion after coming runners up in the Dorset League, the club then moved to Hampshire football and become the reserve team for the Ladies.
2004/2005: The Ladies play in the Southern Premier, and the Reserves are in the Hampshire Divison 1, the youth teams continued to play in Dorset, with the club having an Under 14's and an Under 12's team.
Also the club entered into the Women's FA Cup for the first time.

2005/2006: The Ladies team were promoted to the South West Combination, also winning the league cup, having a great cup double celebration.


2006/2007: The Ladies had a challenge on their hands this year in a battle of relegation, the Cherries stayed up.

2007/2008: With alot of staff coming ang going the Cherries unfortunately had to drop their reserve team, and focused on the Ladies team. They are currently going strong in the South West Combination and are still in the cup.
