AFCB Ladies  5 - 2 Havant & Waterloo Ville

Today saw many changes at Chapel Gate, first an early kick off to ensure light incase the game was to be decided after extra time and penalties.

Jodie Prince was cup tied this week so hung up the red shirt to play against the Cherries, along side Kelly Merry who has played the majority of this season for Havant and Waterloo.

Lindsey Roe and Rachel Simkin were back in the starting line up with Lux on the right wing, and Dodge back in goal, allowing Claire 'Bean' Heydon to star in the Cherries back four.

Much to Kelly Merry's delight Havant and Waterloo opened the scoring in a game of which many goals were to come.

0-1

Cherries manager Shaun Langrish asked for a quick reply, and that's what he got after a great finish from Cherries forward Kirsty Bell levelled up the score.

1-1

End to end action for the next twenty minutes until the slowest goal in history came from a great SLOW chip by.... Michelle Keehan, this put the red and blacks in the lead just minutes before half time.

2-1

Half Time score 2-1

The Cherries came out in the second half with attacking football, 2 or 3 near misses from Lisa Langrish, followed by a great strike beating the keeper only to be denied by the post.

Havant then broke through and a great strike seemed to be sure to go in, hit the cross bar.

The Cherries continued to pile on the pressure and it seemed only a matter of time until they took a 2 goal lead, but it was Havant who got the 4th goal of the game, levelling the scores up.

2-2

The next two goal was a Langrish special, leaving the Havant Keeper no chance and giving the Cherries the lead again.

3-2

The next 20 minutes could have seen either team score, with the Bournemouth subs warming up Shaun was waiting and waiting for the Cherries to put the game to bed, and it was his daughter Lisa Langrish that came up with the 6th goal of the game, her 2nd, to give the Cherries a 4-2 lead.

4-2

On came the subs, George Hoban replacing Sian Tilly, Gil Neil replacing Kirsty Bell.

Some great passing football from the red and blacks saw a typcial training ground routine come off, after Lisa Langrish knocked the ball out to Michelle Keehan who then drove the ball past the Havant Defence, past the Havant keeper, to the feet of Lindsey Roe who put the ball home to give the Cherries a 5-2 victory.

5-2

Full Time score 5-2

A great win for the Cherries which sees them through to the next round.
